Post Doc Advert: Buzz Baum
UCL’s MRC-LMCB is inviting applications for a postdoctoral researcher to join the Baum and Henriques labs as part of an international Wellcome consortium studying the evolution of eukaryotic cytoskeletal systems that have their origins in archaea. Ultimately, this work aims to shed light on the origins of eukaryotic cell organization - one of the great outstanding questions in biology today.
The post-doctoral researcher will use computational approaches to explore the impact of protein sequence changes on the evolution of cytoskeletal filament structure, activity and function at different length and time scales. The post-holder will sit in the theory lab at the MRC-LMCB, working closely with other members of the team (Mohan Balasubramanian, Jan Löwe, Ann-Christin Lindås, Thijs Ettema and Ethan Garner), and members of UCL’s new Institute for the Physics of Living Systems (Andela Saric).
The position is funded by the Wellcome Trust and is available for three years. The deadline for applications is April 3rd 2017.
If you have queries regarding the position please fill out the contact form or contact Professor Buzz Baum directly (email@example.com). For details see: http://www.jobs.ac.uk/job/AXR687/wellcome-trust-funded-research-associate/
